Each site draws its own card and changes the design now and then, so these are close, not pixel-perfect. Sites also keep a copy of a link's card: after you change the tags, use Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector to refresh it.

Questions about sharing links

What are Open Graph tags?

Tags in a page's code (og:title, og:description, og:image and friends) that tell Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, X and most other apps what to show when someone shares the link. Without them, sites guess, and often pick the wrong picture or none.

What size should a share image be?

1200 × 630 pixels, under 300KB. Keep words and faces away from the edges, as some apps crop a little off.

I've fixed the tags. Why does Facebook still show the old card?

Sites keep a copy of each link's card for a while. Run the page through Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector and they fetch it again. WhatsApp updates on its own, usually within a day or two.

Do I need different tags for X?

Mostly no: X reads the Open Graph tags. It does want a twitter:card tag to show the big picture, so the code here includes it.

Should every page have its own share image?

Your homepage and the pages people share most should. For the rest, one good image for the whole site is far better than none.

Is anything stored?

No. Checking a page fetches it and its image once, to read the tags and measure the picture; nothing is kept. Typing the details in yourself happens entirely in your browser.
